A statewide TRASH Youth Advisory Board (YAB) has been created as a method to ensure consistent programming throughout the state and to make certain that youth have input into the direction of the initiative. All funded coalitions elect a youth representative and an alternate to serve on the statewide TRASH YAB. The two representatives act as liaisons, bringing information and ideas from the youth in their local coalition to the statewide planning and training meetings and take what they have learned at the board meetings to peers in their community. In addition, four youth officers have been elected as President, Vice President, Secretary and Public Relations Chair.
